Sjors is a lawyer (external counsel) at De Zaak van Advocaten. He is a specialist in the field of intellectual property and IT law and has extensive experience both in private practice and as a lawyer in the corporate world - a.o. at Dutch multinational AkzoNobel and research institute TNO (unit Semicon & Quantum). Currently, Sjors spends part of his time as an independent lawyer with ASML's Legal & Compliance team, where he provides support to the Litigation, Investigations & Regulatory team. In addition, he regularly advises on a variety of intellectual property and IT law issues and supports in transactions when expertise in one of these areas of law is required. Sjors is a guest lecturer at Radboud University Nijmegen.
Sjors obtained his Master's degree in Dutch Law, specializing in intellectual property law, from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2008. During his studies he spent some time studying at the University of Bologna (Italy).
In the register of jurisdictions of the Dutch Bar Association, Sjors has registered the main field of intellectual property law. Based on this registration, he is obliged to obtain ten training points in this area of law each calendar year according to the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
