Rutger Marres

Rutger is a lawyer at De Zaak van Advocaten and assists companies and investors with investment rounds, M&A transactions, business succession, and governance issues. In his work, he combines broad deal experience with strategic advice on ownership and control. Rutger specializes in the field of steward-ownership and employee-ownership and regularly teaches and publishes on these subjects. He is a former top athlete and was, among other things, the national champion in hockey.

Rutger obtained his Master's degree in Law & Business from Utrecht University in 2015. In the legal areas registry of the Dutch Bar Association, Rutger has registered the following main (and sub) legal areas: Corporate Law (mergers and acquisitions). Based on this registration, he is required to earn ten training points per calendar year according to the standards of the Dutch Bar Association in each registered main legal area.
