Paul is legal counsel at De Zaak van Advocaten. He advises impact funds and mission-driven start-ups on investments, governance, and legal structuring.

He began his career as a lawyer at a Zuidas firm, focusing on M&A and venture capital. He then worked in-house at a venture builder and impact fund where he guided dozens of healthtech startups - from inception to exit.

Paul strongly believes in the role of companies in shaping a sustainable future. He has a keen interest in the intersection of law and sustainability. He delved into the SFDR-9 requirements for impact funds, co-authored an ESG & Impact Policy, and supported a successful B Corp (re)certification.

He studied law at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in corporate law with a minor in human rights.

His work focuses on legally enabling organizations that want to create both economic and social value.
