Isabelle is an associate at De Zaak Van Advocaten, where she focuses on venture capital and corporate transactions.
She advises founders, investors and scale-ups on investments, shareholder and governance matters. Isabelle combines a strong analytical background with a practical and business-oriented approach, making her a valuable sparring partner in fast-moving deal environments.
Before joining De Zaak Van Advocaten, Isabelle worked at A&O Shearman (formerly Allen & Overy), where she gained experience in Corporate/M&A and competition law. She was also involved in ESG initiatives and pro bono work, including projects related to sustainable governance.
Isabelle holds an LL.M. in Private Law (Commercial Legal Practice) from the University of Amsterdam. Her academic work focused on the role of shareholder rights and activism in advancing sustainability within listed companies. She also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Dutch Law (civiel effect) and a BSc in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE). Earlier in her career, Isabelle gained experience at De Nederlandsche Bank, where she worked on climate risk and sustainable finance, further shaping her interest in the intersection of law, finance and impact.
